Move the Body!
The cycle experience
you have been searching for...
The Agro Cycle Tour winds through beautiful, low-traffic, back country roads to
four intriguing agricultural destinations.
We begin at Whippoorwill Hollow
Farm. After your ride, enjoy lunch catered by the farm-to-table restaurant
Farm 255
of Athens and the live music of the Free Jazz Jerks on the grounds of the
beautiful Whippoorwill Hollow Organic Farm
(click here for directions and map).

Whippoorwill Hollow Certified
Organic Farm produces ingredients for some of the finest chefs in
Atlanta and Athens. Whippoorwill is
a leader in the small organic farming movement, serving as a model farm for those advocating change before Congress. The Byrds
have been featured in numerous publications and on the Food
Network. Farmer Andy Byrd, our host, is
passionate about the food on your table! Meet up here to begin the day's events.
Down to Earth Energy is a biodiesel production and research facility.
Get insider information on the alternative energy debate and see
how biodiesel is really made.
Darby Farms is a
pastured poultry farm. You are sure
to get in touch with your roots when you step onto this beautiful farm. Meet Daniel Dover, a modern farmer with
anything but modern farming techniques.
Daniel will take you back in time with his sustainable farming
practices borrowed from our founding fathers. Learn about the lost connection between
the local farmer and the consumer and the toll it has taken on our health, the
economy and our environment.
New to the tour
The Portico at
High Shoals is a 60 acre property that runs along the scenic Appalachee River. It serves as a platform for some our nation's lost arts and crafts such
as blacksmithing, soap making, wood turning and traditional natural
gardening. Meet owners Lee Moody, a master wood craftsman, and Leslie Moody, an established Georgia artist. The Portico is an exciting addition to our tour
this year.
